A world premiere drama set on a post-nuclear Arkansas farm
On stage in Fayetteville February 4–28, 2016
NORTHWEST ARKANSAS — February 5, 2016 — On February 5, TheatreSquared will open performances of Fault, the newest work by T2 Artistic Director Robert Ford (Look Away, The Spiritualist, My Father’s War). Drama Desk Award-winner Josh Hecht directs the world premiere production. In the aftermath of a nuclear disaster in the Arkansas River Valley, Gabe—ex-Razorback, now star NFL quarterback—defies a government quarantine and returns to his family farm. There, he is surprised to find a stranger who has backpacked into the evacuated area and seems to have something to hide. Performances are scheduled February 4–28, 2016, Wednesdays through Sundays, at Walton Arts Center’s Nadine Baum Studios (505 W. Spring St., Fayetteville, AR 72701). Tickets range from $15-45 and are on sale now at (479) 443-5600 and theatre2.org.
Fault is the newest work by playwright and TheatreSquared artistic director Robert Ford, winner of the Porter Prize and the 2014 Governor's Arts Award. “It’s a beautiful Ozark farm, resplendent in fall colors — a picture close to our hearts,” said Ford. “But there is danger here, both real and psychological. This is a story of two people out of place, in an uncertain new world, searching desperately for answers. I’m thrilled to see its premiere here at TheatreSquared.”
The cast of Fault includes Ryan George, Brian Lee Huynh, and Rebecca Hirota.
The lead creative team for Fault includes scenic designer Reid Thompson, lighting designer Dave Stoughton, sound designer Elisheba Ittoop, costume designer Ruby Kemph, technical director Will Eubanks, properties coordinator Brodie Jasch, and stage manager David Loranca.
Acclaimed director of new works Josh Hecht stages the world premiere of Fault. His work has been seen in New York at The Duke on 42nd Street, New World Stages (Drama Desk Award, GLAAD Media nomination), Culture Project , MCC Theater, The Theatre at St. Clement’s, The Cherry Lane, 13P, the DR2), PS 122, Ars Nova, Partial Comfort, Joe’s Pub, the Ontological, and others.
