A Message from Executive Director Shannon A. Jones:

To our TheatreSquared Community,

This past Friday, we were notified that the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝘂𝗿 $𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹—𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀.

Unfortunately, hundreds of arts organizations nationwide received similar news, many of which had projects and programs underway. This decision is a blow to arts organizations and communities across the nation. The arts are vital resources that foster empathy, build shared understanding, and connect us, regardless of our backgrounds.

While this unexpected cut poses a real challenge, we’re committed to providing access to remarkable live theatre. Despite these setbacks, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗱. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.

T2 is more than a theatre—it’s a town square, a gathering place where stories spark reflection, joy, and connection. This moment reminds us just how vital that space is.
